Two stories put Schwerin in the spotlight

Original: schwerin

The northern German city of Schwerin is in the news for two separate reasons. Nordkurier reports new hope for a traditional East German hotel that went insolvent, suggesting a possible revival of the landmark. Meanwhile, the Ostsee Zeitung reports that a driver struck a female pedestrian in Schwerin, leaving the 42-year-old seriously injured.

Why now: A possible rescue of a well-known former East German hotel and a serious traffic accident in the city are drawing local attention.
