Vatican foreign minister admits China deal has imperfections
Original: China-Vatican deal has imperfections, Vatican’s foreign minister says
The Vatican's foreign minister has publicly acknowledged that the agreement between the Holy See and China on the appointment of bishops is not flawless. Why now: The Vatican's senior diplomat openly conceding flaws in the sensitive China agreement fuels debate over whether it should be renewed or reworked.
