Africa Demands Real Action as COP31 Talks Approach
Original: COP31: Africa demands action, not another summit of broken promises
Attention is turning to the COP31 climate summit, with African voices arguing the continent has heard too many unfulfilled pledges from wealthy nations. Advocates are calling for concrete commitments on climate finance, adaptation support and emissions cuts rather than fresh promises. Critics say African countries, among the hardest hit by climate change despite low emissions, cannot afford another round of talk without delivery.
Why now: Ahead of the COP31 climate summit, frustration is growing in Africa over years of unmet climate funding and emissions pledges.
