Kousa dogwood 'Satomi' puts on a surprise fall bloom
Original: Flowering # Dogwood / # Cornus kousa "Satomi" giving a # fall show! Smaller # flowers than # spring , but still lovely.
Gardeners are noting that Cornus kousa 'Satomi', the pink-flowering dogwood, is blooming again in autumn. The fall display features smaller flowers than the tree's main spring show, but is still considered lovely. The tree is prized for its pink bracts, and an off-season bloom is drawing appreciative comments from plant and gardening enthusiasts sharing seasonal colour.
Why now: An unusual autumn flowering of a tree normally known for spring blooms is delighting gardeners sharing fall colour.
