XREAL Aura launched as first wired Android XR glasses
Original: The first wired XR glasses powered by Android XR
Google has announced XREAL Aura, described as the first wired XR glasses running on its Android XR platform. The wired connection is the notable design choice, contrasting with most smart-glass efforts that rely on wireless tethering, and points to Android XR moving beyond the Samsung headset partnership into lighter display hardware.
Why now: A first-of-its-kind hardware announcement for Google's new Android XR platform has just been published.
