Obama Mocks Trump's Canada Feud With 'Evil Empire' Swipe
Original: 'They're The Nicest People...' Obama Mocks Trump's Canada War With 'Well Known Evil Empire' Swipe
Barack Obama has mocked Donald Trump's escalating dispute with Canada, remarking that Canadians are 'the nicest people' before taking a swipe at what he called a well-known 'evil empire'. The remarks quickly drew wide attention, with many reading them as a pointed jab at Trump's trade and tariff posture toward Ottawa. Commenters debated whether Obama's joke was a fair critique or needless provocation.
Why now: Tensions between Trump and Canada are high, and a former US president publicly mocking the feud draws strong reactions.
