Mental health-themed ambulance unveiled in Greenport
A mental health-themed ambulance has been unveiled in Greenport, according to local news reports. The vehicle is designed to respond to mental health-related calls, part of a broader effort in some communities to send specialised responders instead of standard emergency services to such incidents. Further details about the programme and how it will operate have not yet been widely reported.
Why now: Communities are increasingly discussing specialised crisis-response programmes as alternatives to traditional policing for mental health emergencies.
