The Federal Aviation Administration has restricted airspace over the Department of Energy's Savannah River Site in South Carolina, with the notice describing the situation as a "US Government Nuclear Incident." The move suggests authorities are responding to a possible emergency at the nuclear facility, though details about what triggered the closure and whether there is any danger to the public have not been confirmed.
Why now: The unusual airspace closure labeled as a nuclear incident is raising concern about a possible emergency at a major US nuclear facility.
