Pokemon Go demand drives up Sendai hotel prices for exam students

Original: 河北新報

Hotel rates in Sendai have surged to around 40,000 yen a night, leaving students sitting for Tohoku University entrance exams struggling to find rooms, with some forced to stay outside Miyagi Prefecture. The spike is attributed to demand from Pokemon Go players. Separately, the Tsuruoka-based Chido Museum confirmed an original document handwritten by Date Masamune addressed to Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
