Epic Games has brought its new Epic Games Launcher to Linux, and a remade Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC v2) is on the way. The CachyOS Linux distribution team is now developing a dedicated kernel to support Easy Anti-Cheat v2, aiming to ensure anti-cheat-protected multiplayer games run properly on Linux systems.
Why now: Anti-cheat support has long been a major blocker for running Windows multiplayer games on Linux, so native EAC v2 kernel support is significant for Linux gamers.
