George Russell to sit out opening practice at Mexican Grand Prix

Original: george russell

George Russell will not take part in the first practice session at the Formula 1 Mexican Grand Prix in Mexico City. Franco Colapinto will also miss FP1, with both drivers giving up their cars to substitute drivers as teams use the session to give younger talent track time. The move means limited running ahead of qualifying for Russell and Mercedes at a high-altitude circuit.

Why now: Fans are tracking which F1 drivers are rested for FP1 at the Mexico City Grand Prix weekend.
