Google opens registration for alternative Android app stores

Original: ANDROID REGISTERED APP STORES: GOOGLE ÖFFNET ANMELDUNG FÜR ALTERNATIVE STORES https:// gadgetchecks.de/android-regist er

Google is opening a registration process allowing alternative app stores on Android, a move tied to recent pressure for more open app distribution. Alternative app store operators can now register to run officially alongside the Play Store. The change is being discussed as a significant shift in how Android handles third-party app marketplaces and competition with Google's own store.

Why now: Google's decision to formally allow alternative app stores marks a major change in Android app distribution and follows regulatory pressure on its Play Store dominance.
