West Virginia Attorney General Investigates Environmental Groups
Original: WV AG Says He’s Investigating Environmental Groups Over ‘Deceptive’ Acts
West Virginia's attorney general says he is investigating environmental groups over what he calls 'deceptive' acts. The announcement signals a legal pushback against environmental organizations active in the state, though details of the alleged misconduct and which groups are targeted have not been fully disclosed. The move is likely to intensify ongoing disputes between state officials and environmental advocates.
Why now: The attorney general's public announcement of an investigation into environmental groups is new and politically charged.
