Researchers Use AI to Design Robot Animal Never Seen in Nature
Original: These Researchers Used Artificial Intelligence to Design an ‘Animal Robot’ That Has Never Existed
Researchers have used artificial intelligence to design an 'animal robot' unlike anything that exists in nature, according to a report by Robohub. The work points to AI being used not just to control robots but to generate entirely new robotic body designs, opening questions about how machine-generated creatures could be used in research, exploration or engineering.
Why now: People are interested in AI moving beyond text and images into inventing novel physical robot designs.
