Alleged Chinese spy reportedly had close ties to Nvidia's Jensen Huang
Original: Alleged Chinese spy had 'close relationship' with Nvidia boss Jensen Huang
Reports claim an alleged Chinese spy cultivated a close relationship with Jensen Huang, chief executive of US chipmaker Nvidia. The allegations are drawing attention because Nvidia sits at the centre of the US-China technology rivalry, supplying the artificial intelligence chips Washington has restricted for export to China. Details about who the person is and what access they may have had remain limited, and neither the individual nor Huang has been shown to have done anything unlawful.
Why now: The allegation touches Nvidia's CEO at a moment of intense US-China tension over advanced AI chips.
