Paris shooting suspect ordered into pre-trial detention
Original: Suspect in Paris shooting to be placed in pre-trial detention, anti-terrorism prosecutor says
A suspect in a shooting in Paris will be placed in pre-trial detention, France's anti-terrorism prosecutor has said. The decision means investigators are treating the attack as a potential terrorist offence, with the suspect held while the inquiry continues. Few other details about the shooting, the suspect, or any victims were immediately confirmed.
Why now: The anti-terrorism prosecutor's involvement signals French authorities are handling the shooting as a possible terrorist attack.
