British walker Karl Bushby nears home after 28-year global trek
Original: After 28 years walking across the globe, he's almost home
Karl Bushby, the British adventurer who set out in 1998 to walk around the world, is finally approaching the end of his journey and a return to the UK after 28 years on the move. His odyssey, including a famous crossing of the Bering Strait from Russia into Alaska, has drawn renewed attention as he closes in on home.
Why now: The remarkable end of an extraordinary decades-long journey is a naturally compelling human-interest story.
