Florida Diocese Finally Gets Its New Bishop
Original: Florida (Finally) Gets a Bishop
The Episcopal Diocese of Florida has filled its long-vacant bishop's seat, according to a report from The Living Church headlined 'Florida (Finally) Gets a Bishop'. The word 'finally' points to a lengthy vacancy or contested election process before a new leader was confirmed for the diocese, a significant development for Episcopalians in the state.
Why now: The diocese had reportedly gone an unusually long time without a bishop, making the appointment notable to church observers.
