Canada is set to join the European Union's network of supercomputers, according to reporting by Pieter Haeck for Politico Europe. The compute power partnership is described as a first step toward cooperation on artificial intelligence among middle powers, giving Canada access to EU high-performance computing infrastructure at a time when computing capacity has become a strategic resource for AI development.
Why now: Access to supercomputing power is increasingly seen as critical for AI development, making middle-power tech cooperation newsworthy.
