More than 460 flights were delayed or canceled at airports in Moscow and St. Petersburg on Thursday after a drone attack, according to media reports citing Ukrainian sources. The disruption left large numbers of passengers stranded and forced authorities to temporarily restrict operations at several airports in both cities. The incident comes as Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian territory continue to target infrastructure, including the capital's aviation hub.
Why now: A large-scale drone attack causing major air travel disruption in Russia's two biggest cities is newsworthy given the ongoing war.
