Reddit CEO confirms login will eventually be required
Original: Reddit will require you to log in eventually, CEO confirms
Reddit's chief executive has confirmed that the platform will eventually require all users to log in to browse its content, ending full access for anonymous visitors. The move signals a shift toward account-based usage, likely tied to personalization, moderation and advertising goals. Reaction has been skeptical, with many users worried about privacy, the loss of casual browsing, and how it may shrink Reddit's audience.
Why now: Requiring logins would change how hundreds of millions use one of the web's largest communities, raising privacy and access concerns.
