Spacewalkers Install Roll-Out Solar Array in Orbit

Original: Spacewalkers Install Roll-Out Solar Array for Power Generation

Astronauts working outside the International Space Station have installed a new roll-out solar array designed to boost the station's power generation. NASA says the flexible array is part of an upgrade effort to augment the station's aging solar wings as they degrade over time. The spacewalk marks another step in keeping the orbiting laboratory supplied with electricity for its research operations.

Why now: The spacewalk and new solar array technology represent a notable milestone in space station maintenance and solar power innovation.
