Student-backed election winners demand sweeping resignations in Serbia
Election winners in Serbia who were backed by student protest groups are demanding sweeping resignations from state officials and institutions. The movement, which emerged from months of student-led demonstrations, has translated public anger into electoral success and is now using its mandate to push for accountability. The demands add pressure on Serbia's leadership and could deepen an ongoing political crisis.
Why now: Fresh election results have shifted power to student-backed candidates, raising the prospect of major political upheaval in Serbia.
