Original: University of Alberta - U of A physicists honoured to be part of Nobel winner Francis Halzen's IceCube Neutrino Observatory team
Physicists at the University of Alberta are being recognised for their contributions to the IceCube Neutrino Observatory, the Antarctic detector led by Francis Halzen, who has been awarded a Nobel Prize. The honour highlights the Canadian team's part in the international collaboration that detects neutrinos deep beneath the South Pole ice, work now linked to Nobel-level recognition in physics.
Why now: Francis Halzen's Nobel Prize has renewed attention on the IceCube collaboration and its contributors, including the University of Alberta team.
