EU turns Frontex into high-tech deportation hub
Original: EU transforms Frontex into a high-tech deportation command centre https:// feddit.org/post/37383904
The European Union is transforming its border agency Frontex into a high-tech deportation command centre, expanding the agency's role in coordinating removals of people denied asylum across member states. The move has drawn criticism from migrant rights advocates who see it as a hardening of EU migration policy, while supporters argue it streamlines enforcement of deportation decisions.
Why now: Ongoing political debate over the EU's tougher migration and border enforcement policies
