Original: Finland launches criminal probe into land clearance for Google data centre https:// feddit.org/post/37389410
Finnish authorities have launched a criminal investigation into land clearance carried out for a Google data centre site. The probe will examine whether rules were broken when the land was prepared for the project. The story has drawn attention among technology and environment watchers, as it puts one of the world's biggest tech companies under legal scrutiny in a country that has actively courted data centre investment.
Why now: A criminal investigation into a major tech company's data centre project is unusual and raises questions about environmental and legal compliance.
