Ukraine Strikes Iskander-M Launcher Deep Inside Russia
Original: Ukraine Strikes Iskander-M Launcher Inside Russia—Cutting Into Moscow’s Ballistic Missile Threat
Ukraine says it struck an Iskander-M missile launcher on Russian territory, targeting the system Moscow uses to fire short-range ballistic missiles at Ukrainian cities. If confirmed, the hit would degrade Russia's ability to launch such strikes and underline Kyiv's growing ability to hit high-value military assets deep behind the front line, using drones or long-range weapons.
Why now: Strikes on Russian soil and on Iskander systems are rare, escalatory developments in the war
