Original: Be like Pope Leo*: "Pope Leo XIV has requested a mail-in ballot for the November 3 midterm elections": https:// thecatho
Pope Leo XIV, the first American-born pope, has requested a mail-in ballot for the November 3 US midterm elections, according to the Catholic Herald. The news is drawing attention because of its unusual mix of papal office and domestic US electoral politics, with commenters encouraging others to vote, whether by mail or in person.
Why now: An American pope participating in US midterm elections is unprecedented and politically sensitive.
