A group of congressional Democrats has sent a sharply critical letter to Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Department of Homeland Security, condemning the treatment of detainees on hunger strike in ICE custody. The lawmakers are demanding answers about conditions and medical care for those protesting their detention. The story, reported by The Guardian, has drawn attention among US politics and immigration watchers.
