Original: “Vetrine distrutte per milioni di euro”. Giorgia Meloni manda l’esercito a Gaza. @ attualita https://www. lercio.it/vetr
Italian satirical outlet Lercio has published a piece joking that Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is sending the army to Gaza over 'shop windows destroyed for millions of euros', a jab at the government's priorities amid student protests in Italy. The item, shared under a current affairs tag, is satire, not a real deployment, and is being circulated as political commentary on the contrast between domestic unrest and Middle East policy.
Why now: The satirical article is being shared as commentary on Meloni's government handling of student demonstrations and the Gaza conflict.
