Original: From the streets to the gallery, Eugene parking meter art goes on display

Parking meters from Eugene, Oregon, that were turned into art installations have been put on display in a gallery. The project takes objects familiar from the city's streets and reworks them as public art, and Oregon Public Broadcasting and NPR have covered the exhibition, drawing attention to local public art efforts.

Why now: Local media coverage of an unusual exhibition has put the community art project in the spotlight.
