Home gardener harvests 50 finger limes for freezing
Original: Somewhat disturbingly, my finger lime tree successfully bore fruit this year so today I processed about 50 ripe friends
A home gardener reports that their finger lime tree bore fruit for the first time, yielding around 50 ripe fruit. They spent the day processing the limes down to their juice pearls, which they froze for later use. Finger limes are prized for their caviar-like citrus pulp, so a first successful harvest is a notable small win for a backyard grower.
Why now: A first successful harvest of a coveted citrus fruit is a satisfying garden milestone people like to share.
