Putin calls Elon Musk 'truly a genius'

Original: Elon Musk is ‘truly a genius,’ says Vladimir Putin Putin said that he and Musk are in "close contact" about Rassvet, Rus

Vladimir Putin has praised Elon Musk as 'truly a genius' and said the two are in 'close contact' regarding Rassvet, Russia's planned satellite internet project modeled on Musk's Starlink. The remarks have drawn attention because of Musk's prominent role in US space and communications infrastructure, raising questions about the nature and appropriateness of any dealings between the billionaire and the Kremlin.

Why now: Claims of close contact between Musk and Putin touch on national security concerns given Musk's control of Starlink and US tensions with Russia.
