Tailscale reflects on campus networking before its time
Original: I wish I had Tailscale when I was at university
Tailscale has published a piece recalling how useful its mesh VPN would have been during university years, when students struggled with campus networks, restricted access and getting their devices to talk to each other. Readers are responding with nostalgia for earlier tools like SSH tunnels and Hamachi, and sharing their own stories of wrangling dorm and lab networks.
Why now: A widely read discussion post has struck a chord with technologists reminiscing about clunky campus networking before modern VPN tools existed.
Rank over time, top of the chart is #1. 89 snapshots from 5 d ago to 14 min ago.
