Footage circulating online suggests the Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery in Russia's Samara region has been struck in at least three separate locations, apparently following a drone attack. Observers describe the damage as extensive, and the refinery is a significant fuel producer, so the strikes could affect Russian refining capacity.
Why now: A major Russian oil refinery appears to have been hit in multiple places, likely by Ukrainian drones, amid the ongoing war.
