NBC develops Gatsby police procedural
NBC is developing a police procedural based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's 'The Great Gatsby', reimagining the classic Jazz Age novel as a crime drama. The project is drawing attention because of the unlikely pairing of a beloved literary classic with the cop-show format, prompting debate about Hollywood's appetite for adaptations of public-domain works.
Why now: The unexpected twist of turning a literary classic into a network crime drama is striking entertainment observers.
