Democrats Confident in Senate Races but Worried About Iowa
Original: Democrats, Hopeful All Over the Senate Map, Remain Jittery About Iowa
Democrats are expressing optimism about their chances in Senate races across much of the country, but party strategists remain nervous about Iowa, where a contested race could complicate their path to a majority. The state has drifted Republican in recent cycles, and a loss there would undercut gains Democrats hope to make elsewhere on the electoral map.
Why now: Senate control may hinge on a handful of close states, and Iowa is seen as a weak spot in Democrats' otherwise hopeful outlook.
