Wolfenstein 3D gets an unlikely Atari 2600 port

Original: Wolfenstein 3D on the Atari 2600

A hobbyist developer has ported Wolfenstein 3D to the Atari 2600, a 1977 console with only 128 bytes of RAM, releasing it for the PlusCart and UnoCart platforms. The technically impressive homebrew has drawn attention on AtariAge forums and among retro computing enthusiasts, who are marveling at how id Software's 1992 shooter could be squeezed onto hardware so radically limited.

Why now: The sheer technical feat of fitting a 3D shooter onto 1970s console hardware is remarkable to retro gaming and programming communities
