Colorado Amendment 83 raises Halloween concerns for bears
Original: Halloween bad scare for bears: Colorado Amendment 83, if it passes
Animal advocacy outlet Animals 24-7 warns that Colorado Amendment 83, if passed by voters, could spell trouble for the state's bears around Halloween. The headline frames the ballot measure as a potential 'bad scare' for bears, tying the vote to the season when human-bear encounters tend to rise as bears forage before winter. No further details on the measure's contents are given.
Why now: Colorado voters are weighing the amendment on an upcoming ballot, and seasonal bear activity around Halloween is drawing attention to wildlife policy.
