RFC 7705 sets out BGP autonomous system migration rules

Original: RFC 7705 defining Autonomous System migration mechanisms for the Border Gateway Protocol or BGP was published in Novembe

RFC 7705, the standard defining mechanisms for migrating networks between autonomous systems in the Border Gateway Protocol, was published in November 2015. Networking engineers are revisiting the document, which describes how operators can renumber or transfer an AS number without disrupting BGP routing, alongside related technical resources on internet routing.

Why now: Technical audiences are sharing reference material on established internet routing standards and their history.
