Renewed interest in crime series Kommissar Rex

Original: kommissar rex

Kommissar Rex, the popular Austrian-German crime series about a police dog working with Vienna's homicide squad, is drawing fresh attention in Germany and Austria. Search interest has been boosted by renewed coverage of Tobias Moretti, the actor who played inspector Richard Moser in the show's early seasons, with media reports about his wife and her near-fatal experience. Fans continue to revisit the series, which ran from 1994 and became an international hit.

Why now: Media coverage about former star Tobias Moretti and his wife has revived nostalgia for the cult police dog series.
