President Trump appeared on Fox News with host Brian Kilmeade, who asked how he would address racial disparities in trust toward police. Instead of answering directly, Trump pivoted to poll numbers, China, the economy, a rocket launch and social media. The exchange is drawing criticism from commentators who see it as an evasive response to a serious policing question.

Why now: Commentators are highlighting the president's refusal to directly answer a question about racial disparities in police trust during a Fox News interview.
