Korean Parties Clash Over Overseas Diplomacy

Original: Clash Over 'Overseas Diplomacy': Opposition Says "IV Drips Once in Power," Ruling Party Retorts "Soju on Presidential Jet Under Yoon"

South Korea's political parties are trading barbs over overseas diplomacy. The opposition mocked the government's foreign trips, saying leaders go abroad to receive IV drips once in power, while the ruling party shot back that soju was carried on the presidential jet under former president Yoon Suk Yeol. The exchange reflects heated partisan fighting over the conduct and optics of presidential travel abroad.

Why now: The opposition's jabs and the ruling party's retort about the Yoon era have reignited partisan sparring over presidential overseas trips.
