Drones Strike Lukoil Refinery and Power Plant in Kstovo
Drone strikes hit the Lukoil oil refinery and a power plant in Kstovo, in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region, on the same night. The refinery is one of Russia's largest, so an attack on it and a nearby power facility could disrupt fuel output and local energy supply. Further details on damage or casualties were not immediately available.
Why now: Strikes on Russian oil refining infrastructure are a major escalation in the ongoing attacks on Russia's energy sector.
