Original: ‘An Absolute Human Tragedy’: Christian Genocide in Nigeria
Evangelical organisation Billy Graham Evangelistic Association has described ongoing violence against Christians in Nigeria as 'an absolute human tragedy' amounting to genocide. The statement has circulated widely among religious and news outlets, drawing attention to the killings of Christians by armed groups, mainly in northern and central Nigeria, and renewing debate over whether the violence is religiously targeted or driven by broader conflict over land, resources and insurgency.
