Berlin's Left Party backs coalition talks with Greens and SPD

Original: christoph hickmann

The Berlin branch of the Left Party (Die Linke) has voted in favour of entering coalition negotiations with the Greens and the Social Democrats. The move opens the way for a potential three-party governing alliance in the German capital. The vote is being closely watched as a test of how far the party will embrace cooperation with centre-left and green partners at state level.

Why now: Berlin's political future and a possible new left-green-red governing coalition are being decided right now
