Turkish authorities have transferred Abdullah Ocalan, the jailed leader of the Kurdish militant movement, to a new section of his prison on Imrali Island. The move comes as part of a broader peace push between Turkey and Kurdish militants, and observers are watching closely for signs it could signal improved conditions or a step toward dialogue in the fragile peace process.
Why now: The transfer coincides with Turkey's ongoing peace efforts involving Kurdish militants, making any change to Ocalan's detention politically significant.
