The Moon Trees Grown From Apollo 14 Seeds
Original: The "Moon Trees"
NASA's archive page for the 'Moon Trees' is drawing renewed attention. The story goes back to Apollo 14 in 1971, when astronaut Stuart Roosa carried hundreds of tree seeds into lunar orbit. After return, the seeds were germinated and planted across the United States and abroad, and space enthusiasts are once again sharing the tale of these living artifacts of the Moon missions.
Why now: A resurfaced interest in space history, with people sharing the little-known story of the Apollo 14 seeds.
