16 strong quakes and three active storms tracked worldwide

Seismic monitors logged 16 earthquakes of magnitude 4.5 or higher in the past 24 hours, including two of magnitude 6 or greater. The strongest, a magnitude 6 quake, struck 165 km northwest of Port-Olry in Vanuatu. Three storms are also active: Super Typhoon In-fa at 90 knots, MURASU-26 at 70 knots, and Hurricane Vance at 25 knots. Fire clusters were also detected globally.
Why now: A cluster of strong earthquakes plus three simultaneous active storms is drawing attention to global natural hazard activity.
