Patrick Stewart as a model for how good men use power

Original: Patrick Stewart taught us what good men do with power

A new essay argues that Patrick Stewart's portrayal of Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek offered a lasting vision of liberal leadership: principled, restrained, and accountable. It uses Picard as a lens on what ethical authority should look like, inviting readers to measure current political leadership against that standard.

Why now: Readers are drawing parallels between Picard's idealized liberal leadership and today's political climate.
